The SFM Foundation is now an affiliate in Minnesota and Iowa of Kids' Chance of America, a national nonprofit organization that shares the Foundation's mission of making college attainable for the children of injured workers.
"We're thrilled about this new partnership and expect that by working with Kids' Chance and its affiliates throughout the country, we'll be able to help even more students in need," said SFM Foundation Executive Director Dave Kaiser.
The SFM Foundation provides scholarships to students whose parents were seriously or fatally injured on the job. Kids' Chance of America creates, assists and supports organizations throughout the country that provide educational opportunities and scholarships for the children of workers seriously injured or killed on the job through financial and other resources.
"I welcome SFM Foundation as a Kids' Chance affiliate member and look forward to partnering with them to expand resources and scholarship opportunities for kids of seriously injured or deceased workers in Minnesota and Iowa," said Victoria Burkhart, Executive Director, Kids' Chance of America. "SFM Foundation has done a fantastic job in supporting student scholarships and has made a tremendous impact on the communities involved."
The SFM Foundation recently expanded into Iowa, and is already working with Kids' Chance supporters there to establish itself in the state.
