About SFM Foundation

SFM Foundation is a non-profit organization created to administer a post-secondary education scholarship program to benefit children of workers disabled or fatally injured in work-related accidents.

SFM Foundation was created in 2008 by SFM Companies, a regional workers' compensation insurance group headquartered in Bloomington, Minnesota. While SFM remains a major sponsor of the Foundation, the vast majority of scholarships have been awarded to the families of injured workers who are not insured by SFM.

Since its inception, SFM Foundation has awarded scholarships to 151 students totaling $1.7 million whose parents were severely injured or killed in workplace accidents. SFM Foundation was created to have a positive impact on the community, and the scope of that impact grows with every family who can be helped by these scholarships.
